I learnt to knit when I was about 5, I grew up on a farm, my Mum and Auntie were contantly knitting, weaving and spinning. my Auntie was an amazing woman who inspired me, she taught me to spin and I made jumpers using wool from Jacobs sheep which I had spun  using a drop spindle, I was constantly creating and  I have continued to use knitting, crochet and macrame in my unique one off pieces. Now I use a larger variety  of materials such as  wire, wool and other natural yarns including hemp and silk, often I embelish the pieces with beads and buttons which have been recycled. Some of the yarns used, I dye myself using natural and synthetic dyes which gives me a more exciting range of colours. I often use materials I have sourced from charity shops and flea markets which is more enviromentally friendly. I work instinctively, allowing the materials to develop the shape, drape and outcome of the pieces. My work is often sculptural and theatrical.   After graduating from Norwich University of the Arts with a first class BA Hons in Textiles, I am continueing to make art and art/fashion which is inspired by the sea, coast, sky and nature, a constant supply of inspiration.
